Mercedes S500 won't shift out of first gear
I have a 2001 S500 that I just did the Transmission reset on with holding down the gas pedal etc...now it wont' shift out of first gear(so it revs high) and I can't select the winter mode and it shifts hard into Park, Reverse, Drive now. Was working fine before, now I feel like I just broke something that wasn't broke. Any clues? Help needed ASAP.

Out Of Control!!
There is no free solution. Get a second job and get the transmission properly diagnosed. Then you can spend the next three months fixing the problem!

Perhaps a more specific, more detailed description of the situation and the problem might get you a reply that would actually help you.
Don't assume that we know what you did - tell us exactly what you did to do the reset.
What do you mean "...shifts hard into Park, Reverse, Drive...". Do you mean that the shift lever is hard to move? Or do you mean that the shift lever moves normally, but the transmission jerks or slams as it shifts into Park, Reverse, Drive?
Have you tried manually shifting from first to second by moving the shift lever to the side?
Does Reverse work normally?

Just guessing.....even though very little info has been provided....
You mashed the pedal too hard during your transmission control unit reset and wrecked the kick-down button built into the gas pedal. If this button is messed up, the transmission control unit doesn't know what gear you're in or supposed to be in so it won't shift.
You definitely need to get this diagnosed by reading codes, preferably with the Star DAS, and find out what actually is wrong and why your car is acting up.
Good Luck!.
Ps. I could be completely wrong, as this was just a guess. For all I know, it could be your tire pressure is too low. :p

S500v
My 2000 s500v just started doing the same thing. I was driving an it just came into that mode. It started showing a electric code. An a brake code. My Mercedes runs fine as it is. I just recently had to put sea foam in to clear the injectors. But that’s all I did towards anything. Since I had the car. I haven’t actually got the transmission fluid looked at. It does shift into gears very well however even though the car is basically electric. But. My fluid could be low so I’m getting it diagnosed asap. An yea all of my gears work. Maybe my fluid could be low
