front control arm bushing
2001 s500
mine are warn, shop wants 600 bucks for repair, i assume they are replacing the whole arm
is it better deal just to get a bushing kit and pay for labor?

I haven't go the foggiest foooking idea what your shop quoted-------why not get off the couch and give them a call and ask them the same question.

If it's the front lower control arm - then it includes both a bushing and a balljoint (two lower balljoints on the W220 by the way). No sense replacing the bushing if the arm is old and the balljoint is old. Stick to quality parts, get Lemforder or Mercedes. Avoid all the other brands as they are mostly junk and won't last. $600 for parts, labor and an alignment isn't a terrible price. That seems about right...

I know the genuine MB parts are 300 and lmfd are 100 or so and probably oem ... Seems easier for shops to just swap out arms rather than just to the bushing work . I'll talk to shop thx
