2001 S500 Value
Guys,
I have a 2001 S500, black on black, AMG sport package, 68k original miles, original window sticker was 90K and the car has lived its entire life in Dallas, so there is absolutely no rust. Over the past two years I have completely replaced the suspension, repaired all the oil leaks, serviced the transmission including the conductor plate and absolutely everything works as it should. I am looking to upgrade to a S65, but was wondering what you thought the real value is for this car.

Depends, amg wheels does not make a amg. Seen alot for $3500. depends on mileage, over 150,000 miles probably $2000 at the most.

Guys,
I have posted the car for sale on this website as well and have included a picture of the original window sticker. This car came with just about every option including the AMG sport package that includes the wheels, revised front and rear bumpers and side skirts. If an excellent car with only 68K miles will only fetch 6K then I will keep it because there is no other car out there in this condition for that little money. I realize older German cars can be a tough sell due to maintenance concerns, but if you have ever turned your own wrenches this car is not hard to work on at all and replacement parts are plentiful and at reasonable prices. For comparison, last year I sold a 1997 Lexus LS400 that had more miles, cosmetically was rougher for 7K. This car has to be worth more I hope....

I have a 2001 s500, with 86 k miles, perfect condition, bought 6 years ago with 72 k miles, never had a problem. Private party might get 5-6 k but love the car, so won’t sell. Don’t drive in winter, covered. I may know someone interested for 5-6 k if interested thanks Bob

A while ago I thought I wanted an S500. But deep inside, I was afraid of the suspension repairs if needed, and my use of the car will only be for the weekends (not commuter) so I went back to try to find a clean E430.
