Weird clunk noise when letting off gas

Anybody have any idea what is causing this. The car drives fine. I noticed a bad clunk if i hit the acceleration then just let off of it. It still down shifts smoothly transmission is good. I replaced the whole front end tie rods, control arms ball joints everything because i noticed 1 control arm was seperated from the bushing and was banging from side to side where it mounts to the frame. I thought that would fix it. But now still when i hit throttle and just let off this clunk hits feels like its from the front end or maybe transmission or motor mount but im not sure. If i drive nornal get up to speed and let of throttle slowly it dosent do it. Only when i hit throttle and just let go of it

Mercedes
Could be motor mounts , transmission mount or center support bushing on the driveshaft

Thank u

Thats what i was thinking as well. Only reason i was thinking it might not be motor mounts is because it dosent happen when i hit the gas just when i let go off throttle completely. If i ease off throttle no thunk but it only happens when i just take foot off throttle completely instantly

I have exact same thing in my CLS 55 AMG. It is primarily in fifth gear , heavy throttle and then let off and a CLUNK sound. Drives fine, replaced transmission mount and it helped some. Anyone figure this out yet?

Could also be driveshaft mount, although mine are fine after 200k+ miles, whereas my transmission and motor mounts seem to fail on a regular basis.

I apologize for bringing up this old thread. I had a similar issue with my car; it turns out that I had a bad front differential bushing, so I verified it by jacking up the car and grabbing the front end of the differential and checking for free play. I did a lot of searches on this issue and came across an in-depth article that may be worth reading. Search for "causes a thud noise when taking foot off the gas pedal on YOUCANIC" and you will see an article that goes over common causes and possible fixes. You can read about it yourself. I hope this information can assist someone else with a similar issue.
