Hey, my cluster died and I have repaired it and now it works. (The car Has been just sitting in a garage for 2 years with dead cluster). After the repair the key won’t turn in the ignition. Can I try to repair the key or will I need to buy it from the dealership? Or can it be other than the key itself. But the key won’t even unlock or lock the car with the remote and I already have changed the batteries in the key

it’s your main car battery in the trunk . It’s scone too weak and when its weak the key won’t turn in the electronic ignition. Put a brand new battery in . Don’t try to jump start you will blow the main fuses under the passenger carpet . If you already jumped it that may be why your key isn’t turning because you blew the main fuses

stsrt with a new battery and if that doesn’t work then pull up passenger carpet and remove the metal plate to get to the Main fuses

I still say its your battery - from sitting so long it’s too weak even when charging it up , but it just won’t hold sufficient charge . If you don’t try a new battery your missing an essential step. If you have aaa they will bring a new battery to try for free if it doesn’t work

After you try a new battery , not a used one , the next step then you’re going to need a matched set of key shifter ecu and ignition switch taken from a donor car

all 4 parts must be from the same donor car as they Are coded only to work together . They sell matched sets on eBay for about $350 or you can get it from a local car being parted out . Make sure the year of car and .ecu is same part number as yours
