Will the old flip-a-rooni work?

Hey guys!! I have a rusted and wrecked low mileage 2003 S500 at my fingertips. My Neighbor has a 2003 S600 with a bad engine that needs replacing. He's selling for really cheap!! Would I be able to Frankenstein one running car together from the two? Could I put the ECU, EIS, Shifter and Engine from the S500 into the S600 and get a working car? I'm interested in everyone's answers! Thanks again!

I've never done this, nor have I personally talked to anyone who has, but I'm not aware of any reason that it wouldn't work. If you have the shop to work in, and free access to both vehicles, and if you have reasonable skills as a mechanic, go for it!

You will need SDS!! The $450 -$650 cost will be repaid many times during and after the project. I would never attempt it without having SDS.

I would think this is a much bigger job as it appears at first sight.
The gearbox is not identical, the S500 has Airmatic, the S600 has ABC suspention. All the theft protection algorithms and links into the controllers "don't know each other". Booth cars have different comfort and feature functions which somehow interfacing with the many controllers, and many more not yet known obstacles.............
