Question ( New Member) 2000 Mercedes S500
My name is Shane and glad to join the Mercedes world family. Hope I get to hear from you and definitely love to chat about cars. Just bought a used 2000 Mercedes S500 and happy with the purchase. The car does run really well and have had no major issues. There is however one issue it keeps giving me which everytime I get into the car it does not start right away. Typically have to wait a few minutes no more than 5 before it cranks over. Everything does turn on including the fan which sounds like a Jet is taking off lol pretty sure that is not suppose to be coming on when turning the key to on position. Not sure if this is a key problem, electrical problem, fuse, or EIS but definitely do not want to take into dealership as they do charge an arm and a leg to look at it. I’m pretty mechanically incline so would love to diagnose this with you guys. Any feed back and help would be greatly appreciated and look forward to hearing your thoughts. Thanks!
When trying to start it you should see high 40s to 50s while cranking.
Could be a weak fuel pump or clogged fuel filter.
Possibly bad/clogged part in the evap system.
