Hard shifts
2002 s430 from morning start, 2nd to 3rd takes long at about 3000 rpm then it eventually goes in to limp mode where I have to pull over and restart car and it is fine after that. This only happens in the morning. Anyone have any ideas? I just ordered an obd2 scanner please help. 160,000 miles. Recently added trans fluid because it was low hoping that would fix the problem but it’s no help

Also to mention it’s a hard shift into 3rd. Then when in limp mode no cel or any light comes on to indicate it’s in limp mode it kinda just gets stuck in 2nd or 3rd. Tried the trans reset method and that’s no help either

I’ve been reading forums stating that it could be anything from the maf sensor to the conductor plate. Won’t really know for sure till I get it scanned. Just looking for some opionions if anyone else has delt with this problem.
