2001 S500 Coolant Leak

2001 S500
2001 S500 Coolant Leak
Hello Forum Members:

I registered under a different screen name (01-MB-S500) last year but can't log-in under that account. Anyhow...

My 2001 S500 has a coolant leak which I have pinpointed with tracer dye. It looks like it's coming from a braided steel hose,
on the upper driver's side of the firewall. Pic attached.




Does coolant actually run through that braided steel hose or is the coolant possibly leaking from behind the firewall?

I didn't see any tracer dye from the plastic (through the firewall) connector which is a known problem with these cars.
