A/C stopped working then came back?
I was running a few errands, so the car was on/off for a few times. I had the A/C going on the first two stops, ran fine. Came out of the last shop and the blower wasn't going...the screen displayed the temps and fan speed (max) but it wasn't blowing. I hit 0 then the fan speed again, nothing. I finally pushed the up for fan speed setting and held it in that position, finally the blower came back on...seems to be working now.
Any ideas what could have caused that? Thanks

I have a similar problem that I'm bringing the car back in for next week. The outside tempature light also does not come on when you start the car. After a few minutes, the climate control fires up. Dealer thinks the instrument panel needs to be replaced.

We've got about 3000 miles b4 next service, as long as it doesn't do it again, i think it can wait

I had a similar issue as well on a long trip. The AC quit blowing air, but was making all the right noises. Acted as if it was frozen. This happenned twice on this trip with the temperature outside in the 90's. I had to turn it off and wait about 20 minutes or so, and then it would work fine. However, I noticed that the side vents were not blowing the usual amount of air.
I took it to my dealer to look into it, and they could not find anything wrong with it. Go figure!
I would appreciate any input regarding this issue.

I got the same problem with my 2001 S500 some time it works fine and then i stop to get a drink at the store get back in start that car up and NO AIR! its 110 here in AZ. I have to stop and shut that car off and then restart and that fixes the problem. This is an item that needs to be recalled. and the AC in the sucks it never blows strong enough. too.

i'm having this problem on my c right now, did a search here and it could be the ac blower regulator, the part is about $160 but is covered under warranty (if your car is still under warranty).
goodluck to you all

iv noticed almost anybody who has the problem has an 00-03 and some early 03's have this problem.. mb changed the ac unit in the newer models because they recieved many complaints that the a/c fan motor was not strong enough.
