Wow! What a hell of a summer without my AC!
Anyway, upon thoroughly digesting this forum for answers, I followed the posts...duh, really?

Deleted the errors, reset climate control, and she is blowing like the Great Plains at Christmas!!!

I live where after the first week in June it never gets below 108 until after September!

Thank you people who supplied the step by step guidance, code interpretations, etc!

My 2000 S-500 with over 200 k miles, rides like it has only 20 k on it...

The small red light in the AC button shows that the AC compressor is off.

 

Should have said my ac light is on and AC won’t come on

 

That makes sense. One thing that I have discovered is that that even after the problem is fixed, the error code must be manually cleared.

 

So yes, the next morning all was rocking...untill...
After I turned ac & car off...it reverted to blowing hot and displays ERROR_____1259...last night it was "...1258..."???

Sad and lonely 😔 sgain

The sun sensor tell the system where the sun is coming into the car, so that cooling can be controlled to keep the comfort level acceptable in all seating positions.

Another possible problem is the duovalve - the computer-controlled valve in the heater coolant flow circuit that controls hot coolant flow to the left/right sides of the car. This is especially likely to be the problem if hot air comes only from one side of the dash.
