Istrument cluster light weak on speedometer only
I have a question about the speedo on my 2003 S500. It works perfectly, but the lighting on the speedometer only is weaker than the rest of the white instrument illumination. When I try to dim it with the knob, nothing happens. On my previous 1999 S320 the light was uniform in all of the gages, so I'm a bit puzzled by this. If anyone knows what the problem might be (or if it is a problem, I'd be very grateful.

this is a known issue with W220 clusters. There are some weak drivers (electronic parts) for the illumination inside the cluster assembly. There are companies specialized for such a repair, and at YouTube you'll find some posts to fix it, if you are an electronic DIY-er.
