Some of you could be eager to hear the w221/216 amg brakes do indeed fit w220/215 cars with minor modifications required
all thats needed:
-on non AMG cars is to drill out the steering knuckle ears, much like the way people retrofit w220 amg calipers onto non amg w220 cars.
-You’ll also need to either get the brake hoses from the w221/216 cars as they are longer
-you’ll need to use oem 14mm lug bolts to reach the new calipers and 3/8” worth of spacers/washers until a more suitable 390mm rotor is found for this conversion
-w221/216 front 390mm rotors and calipers (roughly $600 used)
i can’t imagine any other way to get 390mm big brake rotors on these cars, for example the 2006 cl63 w215 has 390mm rotors but those would sell for $2000-3000. Some might say the w215/220 amg caliper/360mm rotor combo might have a better curb appeal, but coming from the $211,000 msrp w216 cl65, I doubt these are very lacking
