Windsheild Wiper Lock

Hi, 2005 S 430, wiper lock while wipers were on auto during rain.

twisted it off and on and worked for a bit. Then twisted it off and put it into continuous wipe and works fine in that position.

Fuse? Motor? Any ideas?

Wiper Lock!

Did you get a new windshield? If yes, the Sensor behind the windshield needs to be calibrated.

+1 on the sensor. The motor works, but it only wipes in automatic when the sensor tells it that sufficient rain has hit the windshield.

I did the twist to 3 then to 0, then back to auto and splash water on the sensor and it was better and did not do the lock up.
Do I need a STAR computer to calibrate this correctly?
I checked fuse and pulled relays. Nothing looked burned or funny.

I did not get a new windshield.
I have seen posts where people replace these and its fine, but not sure if you need the computer to do it.
I would also love to know where I can get a reliable star setup with xentry.
thanks for the advice!
