S430 transmission issue
I own a 2004 S430 4matic. We were taking it on a trip and were 20 minutes from home when it went into limp mode. The first sign of trouble was when it downshifted and the presafe inactive warning came on. Then a few seconds later the distronic went away. Soon after it entered limp mode. We got it back home. The next day we drove it 6 blocks to a local shop and had the codes read. He cleared the codes and it worked fine until it warmed up. It was diagnosed as a bad conductor plate, which we changed. Everything worked normally for about 10 minutes until it warmed up. Then the presafe and distronic warnings came back and it stopped shifting normally. Frustration levels are high...any bright ideas?

It is still ‘resting’ . I have located a gentleman with a star scanner that may help. If that doesn’t work I will have to hire a rollback to take it to Louisville for diagnosis..wish me luck.

when you changed the conductor plate did you also change the electrical connector plug and check the Tcu in the engine compartment for fluid leakage ? Usually the connector fails damaging the conductor plate and sending fluid up the electrical wiring to the Tcu . If the Tcu has fluid in it , Clean the Tcu of fluid and it should work

Supplier for conductor plate? My dealer says $1100. I see others for 150-250. I don't want crap but there has to be something in the middle.
Please advise. Thanks

Found mine on partsgeek. Allowed to choose from many suppliers. I choose Doorman, hope I choose wisely.
