Cup Holder Situation
Jokes aside; the cupholder in the S500 has decided to disintegrate (extreme over-engineering).
I see two solutions: replace the cupholder with another OEM one, or get something aftermarket.
The only aftermarket option I found is this:

I can’t use the passenger cupholder thing, b/c the car has the massaging seats so there is no insertion point available (afaik).
Are there better solutions out there? I’ve searched the forum and the google, and I can’t really find anything.

For about $60, this is a brand-new repo with a one-year warranty. I bought one of these, and it appears to be identical to the original, and so far works perfectly.
MB calls this a "bottle holder". It is BIG. Check the inboard forward corner of the passenger seat - both my 2003 S430 and 2003 S500 were equipped with the heated/ventilated/massage front seats, and both had the socket for the bottle holder. There should be a snap-off plastic cover over the socket.

I’ll double check if I have that plastic nib for the monster cup holder, but I’m 99% sure I don’t (it has dynamic seats).

Cup holder
Does anyone know, or has anyone retrofitted a front cup holder from the 2nd Gen w220 for the 1st Gen w220? Not sure if any of the 2nd Gen center consoles have the same mountings as the 1st Gen. Thanks in advance.
