knock sensor 03 s600

Hi, everyone. I got new dtc code P1325 rear right knocksensor A30/2 03 s600. I wonder where is it located. Is it just bad sensor or some other bad things related that should be checked first.
Thank you, john

MBZ engines with dual spark plugs have very complicated ignition systems. They use the conductance across the plug gap right after combustion proceeds a bit to measure how well the combustion went. A 1000 volt DC voltage is sent to the plug and the current flow is correlated to combustion efficiency. The conductivity of the 'plasma' decays right as spark ceases, and the rises again as combustion raises temperature and pressure. A 'misfire' is detected if the pressure rise is not normal. A 'knock' is detected by a too rapid pressure rise and rapid oscillation.
There is no 'usual' knock sensor on these engines.
Ignition and combustion science has progressed a lot as emissions and fuel economy regulations have forced the improvements. There is a much more detailed description by the firm that repairs and rebuilds the ignition coil assemblies.
A 'spurious knock dtc' may be an early warning of a failing electronic component in the coil assembly. Unless it reoccurs and increases in frequency, clear it and drive happy.

Hi, Thank you for a deep and knowledgeable information. Car also shows p0300 code that left ignition module but no individual cyl. miss fire code. I changed the module and testing it now. Thank you.
