S 500 headlight problem

S 500 headlight problem
Hi all,
The driver side low beam headlight kept flicking on and off when first turned on. It was suggested by the Mercedes Benz Dealership mechanic that the bulb holder was faulty. This was replaced with a new one plus a new bulb. Fault still occurred.
Same mechanic plus his mate reckoned the bulb relay was faulty. Replaced that with anew one, fault still occurred.
Further investigation by another mechanic, (After putting the car on the Star scope machine) suggested the Baluster was shot so a new one was sent for ( Germany)and installed.
GUESS WHAT? The fault is still there.
I have checked everything that I can find on the forums but am still none the wise.
When you first turn the lights on, the drivers side (RHD) flickers for several seconds then comes on. It comes on , along with the passenger side when you exit the car.
I am stumped on this but don't want to take it back to the Dealership as I'm not impressed with them.
Has anybody got any suggestions or advice please.

i would check a ground wire, maybe in the fixure it self, mine did the same thing, i took out the light and looked inside and saw a bunch of wires that needed replacing,

Mercedes-Benz S430, S500, S600, and E320 CDI
These cars are known to have used wires with faulty insulation. By "faulty", I mean that it (the insulation) starts crumbling off of the wire over the years. The idea was to use an eco-friendly form of wire insulation, but it turned out not to be a long-lasting compound. You may have an intermittent short-circuit inside the headlamp assembly.
