2003 S55 AMG forsale on Offer Up (Los Angeles)
Gents,
I came across this ad on Offer Up if anyone is in the market for a clean tastefully done S55 here's one I think is worth looking. In corresponding with the seller, he stated all preventive maintenance work was done by him.
Thought I'd share, thanks for viewing.

Or the $1000 B Service where they popped open a few more fluid caps and peeked inside. That said, dealers didn’t change the transmission fluid or the ABC fluid regularly.
Even if the owner was a DIY (a lot) guy, there’s no guarantee that the ABC will work forever. Though I’ve cleaned out valve blocks and changed accumulators in earlier days, mine got extra finicky at 75K miles.
other items that come up for any W220 car: pneumatic air pump that controls the locks & soft door close latches & rear headrests gets burned out bc there are places where brittle plastic allows air leaks.
engine mounts leak. Transmission mount gets worn. This last one is easy to fix.
Plus, it’s very concerning. He says the engine bearings have been replaced. Why would the engine bearings need replacement? This sounds like an engine with remaining internal damage ready to fail.
I understand the temptation for a semi-exotic-ish spare car but a 220 from an auction is about as many red flags as you can get. Something like this is most likely going to cost you bigly to get into respectable condition. They can be really cool cars but you definitely need to understand what you’re getting into
