Greetings! Not new to mercedes but just got a 2004 S430 that's riding dirty and sitting down on the ground. The compressor is clicking on so no quick fix to get her onto the trailer. I had read somewhere there is a special block you can use to hold to suspension up to move it a little. They also mentioned you could fashion some out of wood. I was already thinking this route but was curious if anyone has any experience, pictures, explanations?

My trailer is too high. I have the free dad towing service and its a gooseneck flatbed that goes behind his pickup. I could pay $150 for a tow service but will they mess it up if they drag it onto a flatbed?

Thanks!

The factory jack will go into the jacking point with the car really low.

A friend went to Harbor Freight and bought rubber parking chocks, large nylon wire ties and a hacksaw (he was on the road). Not as convenient, but a lot cheaper, and more readily available.

Got it. Thank you. I see the wooden block method in your link. I am only getting it up onto a trailer so I may go that route. It looks a 4x4 on the front. Curious if the back is the same with trying to get it between the torsion bar and body. I will probably bring some of both.

I like those rubber blocks and will probably make a set for the car later on. It seems vital for the front control arm to not bend it.
