Need advice - would you buy this?
This is my first post on the forum, but I've been reading threads about w220 for months now!
I've always wanted to own a w220. I can't really explain it, but I'm a sucker for MB. I drive a c220 1996 and before that, I owned a 190 diesel 1987.
I'm seriously considering a 2003 W220, but I have some concerns and figured it's time to create an account!
It's a 2003 s500 4matic with 150k miles on it. It has front end suspension problems (a leak somewhere), but the guy said he is driving it daily. He also mentioned that car would need new spark plugs and breaks. Car looks good for it's age and title is clean. He's asking 1500 USD for the car.
What do you guys think? I didn't have a chance to go check it out in person yet, but I'm planning to do that.
The way I see it is... I'm getting a car with a "discount" and I can do a coli conversion kit. That way car would cost me 3-3.5k USD and I would not have to worry about airmatic suspension!
The issue is the milage... It scares me a little (and the fact it's not 2004+ which everyone seems to recommend).
Thanks guys for your time!

in reality it likely needs something very costly to run correctly .
you can get a perfect running w220 for 3-4K so find one that needs no work
I guess I should be patient and wait for the right one. I really want a s500 4matic 2004 with more/less 80k miles, but in my area s430 seems to be way more popular.
