What’s up fellas, new member here with a question regarding my 01 S500. My rear headrests are stuck in the upward position. When I hit the dash switch that clearly shows the headrests can go upward or downward, I get nothing. I do know some comes with just a quick release once the button is pressed, but mines just stay up. Any info will be appreciated. Thanks

Sounds like problems with your air pump. The air pump control that action. You might want to try to reset the air pump fuse first.

Would you happen to know where that air pump is located? I had a fuse diagram and went through each and every fuse from under to hood, to under to back seats, and they all are good.

On my post facelift, the air pump is in the trunk left hand side. The fuse is under the passenger seat rear right. I don't know about pre facelift but you can search.

In the right rear foot area, find the light behind the passengers heels, and pull it out of the carpeted wall - you do not have to unplug it. Find the yellow 20-Amp fuse near the inboard end of the row, and pull it out, make sure it isn't blown, and put it back in. Try dropping the headrests. If they now go down, put the light back in and see how long the headrests continue to work. If they fail again pretty quickly, you probably have a broken/disconnected air line, a problem with the valving on the PSE pump, or both pneumatic actuators have failed.

@wallyp ok bud once I get in I’ll definitely do that. Had the car for about 3 years, and it’s been parked for 2, finally trying to get her back up and going fixing the small things needed.
