w220 sunroof (cables)
Should the cables have lubrication on them, I have removed the cables. took a bit of work to get them out. had to spray silicone lubricant on them and run the motor back and forth quite i bit to get them to complete come out of the housing.
They were pretty dirty
at some point i think the sunroof was flooding with water and dust got in to them. Whatever did happen, I just now want to make things Right.
so should clean the cables with some very hot soapy water as it looks like these cables have very fine brushes all down them and try and decontaminate the sunroof housing (not sure how I am going to try and do that without pulling the entire sunroof out. (which I really don't want to do)
or do i clean the cables, push them in and out of the sunroof housing and repeat this again and again:/ until i have gotten everything I can out of them. wash the cables one last time and install them in clean and dry with no lubricant.
