Every time the weather gets cold outside, sound system will intermittently emit this extremely loud, seemingly random screeching sound.
Legit that mermaid **** from harry potter. I’m toying with listening to it underwater to see if I hear mermaid songs, but I don’t think that will work. I’ve prior brought this up, and the suspicion was the amplifier. I’ve since replaced it, and the screeching is back. It’s not random, there’s something in the screeching, like radio or something.
I now suspect it’s a faulty head unit, but I’m not 100% sure. Has anyone else experienced this? Is there a solution? Is a head unit replacement tricky? Is there coding that needs to be done? Do I have to remove the dashboard to do it?

if you get the same year head unit it’s a direct swap. No coding needed . I think you can retrofit a widescreen 2003 deck into 2000/2002 cars . But 2004-2006 cannot swap with earlier cars Originally Posted by Fried Chicken
