No Start / Key Not Turning
2003 S600
The car has been parked and I am ready to repair the burst line from the pump.
I put in a new battery which I tested and charged fully overnight.
Key fob security no longer opens the doors, will need to recode.
Open door, dash lights come on.
Close door, hit radio power, radio comes on. Use door controls to adjust seat, but the seat will not move and no memory function setting is working.
Put key in ignition. Key will not turn. Car does nothing. Cannot shift out of gear to Neutral to even push it into the shop.
Steering wheel can be spun freely. No column lock engagement? Without functioning fob security, I cannot cycle it to try to security disengage trick with ignition.
My thoughts are to order a new key and potentially install a new column lock. I will also go through all the fuses to verify.
Other suggestions for this scenario to save time / headache / expense chasing gremlins?

There is no column lock on these cars
check your battery connections and grounds , check for water or dampness under battery and under passenger floor carpet ahd under rear seat bottom
im guessing a prefuse is blown or the battery isn’t good enough
