2004 s500 4matic "slow moving" electronic parts.
).He's been complaining about various electronic features seeming "slow" or "sticky". The main three things he's been troubled by is the locking system, the main console screen or whatever it's called, and the trunk-mounted cd changer.
I've already explained to him that the locking system is hydraulic and that it's a common problem without a common fix (at least not one that doesn't take many, many hours) so that's not to worry about.
When he goes to eject or insert a cd into the hidden slot under the screen, the screen seems to lift and kinda fold back slowly, almost as if the motor is dying. I told him that it's most likely nothing severe, and that pretty much everything from 2004 isn't of the same quality as what you'd find nowadays, but he refuses to believe me. Could there really be a bigger issue at hand, and if so how do I go about fixing it? Or is my father just being his usual stubborn self? (p.s. love you dad
)The last thing is that the trunk-mounted cd changer doesn't work. I've done research on this already and tried multiple different tactics to try and fix it, but nothing has worked. There are several problems in particular that this device has been experiencing. First, the cartridge which holds the cd's occasionally gets stuck and refuses to eject. Second, the cd changer sometimes gets stuck on a disc while scanning them after being turned on, which is sometimes the cause of the first problem. Third, the player refuses to read any discs that have been placed within any of the six (or five I can't remember exactly how many slots there are) slots. It acts as if there is nothing inside it at all. If you could please tell me what might be wrong with it, how I could fix it, or if the changer is simply shot, it'd be much appreciated.
Lastly, if you have any spare time, I'd appreciate it if anyone could provide the part number for the front marker bulb for his car, I already know how to replace it, just need the part number.
Thanks in advance to anyone who replies! Hope you all have a wonderful day and a Happy New Year!
take a video of the slow nav screen it’s probably normal
look on sylvania web site for bulb numbers
it’s easier to upload to YouTube and then provide the link
