S-Class Corrosion

My 2000 S-430 has significant corrosion on both front fenders, all four doors and my trunk lid. Mercedes position: "Too Bad"! Anyone else have trouble?

Sounds bad, not the same car but my parents E 320 (2001) are also suffering off corrosion, not on the front bumpers and not on the doors but the trunk lid though.
Doesnt Mercedes-Benz provide full corrosion guarantee for about 30 year? Anyway thats pretty bad.

Find a better Mercedes dealer, best one with a good body shop. While you are out of warranty, the early 220 S-classes (mid 99 build date to early 2000) are known to develop corrosion due to a faulty manufacturing process. This is well known, but not published.

Unless the corrosion is the result of an accident or true mistreatment, Mercedes will cover 90% of the repair costs as a courtesy (after warranty), but the decision is up to the Bodyshop manager. So go to the bodyshop, not the service department for that and be a reasonable person. If you have bad luck, you may want to escalate that to the MB area manager (don't recall the exact title; it's the MB contact for the Dealer).

The locations of this corrosion due to these issues are: the bottom panel of the doors, usually the edge, front fenders: in front of the wheels between the bumper and the fender; same on the rear; behind the wheel between panel and bumper and the roof (usually the front edge around the sunroof).

Good luck...

Corrosion

Mine 2000 S5000 has the same corrosion as you discribe:
the bottom panel of the doors, usually the edge, front fenders: in front of the wheels between the bumper and the fender; same on the rear; behind the wheel between panel and bumper and the roof (usually the front edge around the sunroof)
I wonder if MB would do some thing about it if I contact. It is 13 years old car now. Is there any one out there had successful when contact MB about warranty repair on this issue?

Mercedes
In the USA the warranty is long expired.
I believe the warranty in UK is 30 years and I think theres a longer rust warranty in Canada too. Perhaps if you take your car across the border
