Weird rumble noise
Hey everyone I recently purchased a 2004 Mercedes s600 designo with an amg package and for some reason it as a strange rumble which at idle almost feels like a misfire but then if you rev it it gets a little worse and while driving it it is noticeable but when the car goes into a higher gear and sits at a lower rpm it feels smooth as butter if anyone knows what this can be as I have never heard of anyone else with this problem any help would be appreciated thanks

There is some smoke from the tail pipe when I cold start it it’s just a puff of white smoke that doesn’t smell like anything is burning and if I turn the car off and then re start it it starts up immediately with no problems and no puff of smoke.

Coolant leak, possibly a failed head gasket. A puff from the tailpipe and a rough idle that smooths out with higher rpm is consistent with failed head gasket. A V12 at anything above idle will be smooth as silk under nearly all conditions.

Transmission and/or engine mount failure is common on the W220, and a failed mount can cause roughness at idle, and rumble noise telegraphed thru the car when the transmission sits on the chassis. Transmission mount replacement is cheap, easy, and likely to be needed.
