Dead Battery causing problems-please help!

The battery in my 2002 S-430 is dead and will not stay recharged even after a jump. As well nothing seems to work right? After I got a jump today and started to drive the AC didn't work and the car stayed in 3rd gear and wouldn't let me manual shift. After I got back home of course it wouldn't restart. I have been away for 2 months and no one has started the car. Could this be the problem? I assume it is. I have to drive it to MB tomorrow and trade it in. Timing is everything! Any advice is more then welcome!

I had a similar problem...

Something similiar happened with my 2002 S55. I would be driving and suddenly all the warning lights come on (ESP, BAS, ABS, etc). I would not be able to drive over 30 mph. Then, the car would shut off. I jumpstarted it and took it to the dealer and they replaced it with a new battery under warranty. I picked it up and drove it for about 30 minutes and the same thing happened again. Mercedes picked it up and put it back in service.
They replaced the alternator unit and now everything is fine. You might have the same problem...I'm not sure though. Anyways, just some info.
