What a satisfying and easy job to do, the 6500k light is amazing on all the parts although I am going to experiment with more powerful festoon led's for the trunk. I got so excited to do everyone's car that came to visit me. I was a little disappointed to only find 2 bulbs in the whole interior in my brother's Renault, and 3 in my mothers Ford compared to the 20 or so in my own car!
The T10's all seem to work brilliantly fading and everything, the festoons for the licence plate however do throw a 'bulb out ' message straight away, first L and R and now L mostly, but are in perfect working order. They were also the most finicky to take out and put back in, I had to cut the plastic tabs in the lenses to keep the bulbs in place, but the lenses are dirty and need replacing anyway gonna order some at my dealer.
So I'm thinking the wattage is to low on these led's, I'm taking a 10w incandescent bulb out and putting a 1watt bulb in so the system thinks there is nothing there(?). But then why only the message for the licence plate? Anyone got 'lucky' with led's that throw no errors? In all fairness the festoon ad on aliexpress did have a small disclaimer mentioning a few Mercedes, BMW and Audi models may get errors, so I can't really be mad at the seller, and just gonna keep looking around.
Finally found something that kinda works, no error messages but weak lights. $10 per bulb and they look diy. T10's are a joke, emitting almost no light it's just a square that lights up to resemble a 6000k color and the festoons produce about a 5th of the light the aliexpress bulbs produce. The search continues for more (error-free) light!
