2000 S500 Climate Control.
Dear members of the forum
I have a 2000 S500, I have owned it since new. Over its life, only regularly required maintenance has been done, with of course the wear and tear items replaced, battery, tires, rotors, brakes, oils filter etc.
it has 145,500 miles on it. The car has been a west coast car. The same thing happened in 2018, September. But it corrected itself and worked normally till last month November 2021.
The center control unit powers up when the car is started. Each function button lights up when pushed, as it should. Yet nothing happens.
No air comes fro the dash vents hot or cold.
Nothing happens when the front window defrost button is posted.
the Rear window defrost does not work
AC does not work on automatic or manual setting
Heating does not work
No air from the outside enters the cabin.
the window where the temperature settings and fan speed sows following error codes can be scrolled 1219,1257, 1267,1268,1269,1270,1271 can be seen.
Seven codes in all.
Anyone who has any idea please advise. The 20 yr old car while luxurious and has been reliable, may not be worth mor than 5 to 6 thousand dollars in Southern California and with the gas prices they way they have been at $5 per gallon. Realistically I cannot expect more for the car in this market.
with the transmission issue, explained in another thread and now this. Unless it’s something I could rectify myself paying a qualified mechanic may end up costing more than the car is worth.
please advise.
