How to inflate the air struts without powering on the engine?

Hey guys,

I've got an S430 that basically sucked in some water in the engine and is hydrolocked, it can't be started. The suspension struts are fully deflated, is there a way to inflate them without starting the engine?

Thanks for any help

I assume your battery is still charged and the car will still turn to the on position, if not charge up your battery fully. Then turn the key to the on position without cranking to start. The air suspension compressor is electric and should run even if you haven’t crank the engine to start as long as you turn the key on all the way. Give it a try and let us know how it goes.

The weird thing is, it was rising somewhat before but now it's not with that method. Maybe you're right and my battery isn't charged fully so I'll charge it and try again or maybe the airmatic pump is damaged somehow. The car wasn't submerged or anything, it just briefly sucked water but maybe it damaged the pump. I've noticed sometimes other W220s also don't pump until engine is started. I'll try a fully charged battery and see what happens.

Too bad on the water ingestion. Maybe it is not trashed--water into intake system often will not damage engine as it is well dispersed by the time it gets through the filters and ducts.
