Does SAM Control Reverse Lights?

Hi,

My reverse lights are not working, but the bulbs are working. I am wondering if the lights could be controlled by the SAM, because I couldn't find a listing on the fuse chart for the reverse lights (which is where I first looked). I have a 1999 S430.

Thanks

Ray

Yes, since the mid 90s all system on an MB are controlled via the CAN bus and SAMs. Lights not working is an indicator of a bad SAM unit.

Thanks Superswiss. I have removed the SAM, opened it, cut the circuit board out, cleaned it with electrical circuit board cleaner, reinstalled it and my reverse lights are working again.
