2006 Mercedes Benz S430
Is the stock OEM S430 Windshield Clear or does it have Grey Shading?

MBWorld Forum Members,
I need to get my windshield replaced and I wasn't sure if the stock Mercedes Windshield on a 2006 S430 has the grey shading or not, does anyone know? Was the grey shading an upgrade? And lastly does anyone have any pictures of both types of windshields so I can better understand the difference? Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

No windshield is translucent - translucent means that light goes thru, but you can't see thru it.

I have never seen the specs, but my understanding is that all W220 glass contains iron to reduce heat gain thru the glass. Still transparent, but cuts both heat gain and radio signals. I think that all US models also had banded windshields - a graduated band at the top that reduces light penetration.
