I recently bought a very clean, relatively low mileage 2004 S430. The A/C has not worked since I bought it about a week ago, and initially the AC off light would not turn off. I read the Codes, and I only had one, which was "KLA v 1269" I cleared that code, and was able to turn the a/c on, BUT, nothing comes out of the vents. There were no codes initially after I cleared the one that it had.
I let the car sit a day, then came back and was still able to turn teh a/c on, but same thing, nothing coming out of the vents. First I got no codes when checked, then tried again and got codes 1267, 1268, 1269, 1270 & 1271, All these codes seem to relate to A/C Bus?

Not sure what that means, or what I should check next.

I think this means low freon. Don't use one of those cans you get at parts stores for $20, get someone with a machine to do it.

 

if the ac light does not turn off check my under my nick here and "there" for the software error that needs resetting (the ac code is not indicated).
