1) pump turned on 7 times and then shut itself down, fuse pops. I opened the PSE pump and the motor spins great. some discoloration on the solders for the solenoids but nothing scary. car was kept very dry. Now, it does not power on at all. Should I just fudge it and not have locking doors? New pump too expensive
2) misfire 3 whenever i try to accelerate well, it stumbles. this week, putting in tune up: 16 wires and 16 plugs from FCP , and some liqui moly oil change wont hurt
3) DRLs are available on ebay, look real nice, however I have to tap into all sorts of wires. Like headlights and turn signals. Is this easy to tap into the harness or best left to the professional?
does this car have a round plug for the diagnosis? My scan tool has the round plug also, it is called a mutiplexor I think. cant find a round plug anywhere, so I just diagnose through the ODB
The round plug is found on the earlier cars. The W220 diagnostics are all thru the OBD-II connector. The multiplexer is the electronic interface box that forms the heart of the SDS.
Look for a U-Pull-It Yard within a reasonable distance. Pulling the PSE pump is quick and easy. If no luck there, try eBay. Be warned - it can difficult to get the replacement pump programmed to match your car. The programming is on the pneumatic valves, etc. - the pump itself is not programmed.
i will try and get the exact pump part number, i heard it does not have to be reprogrammed. also dealer about 5 miles from my house so it should not be a problem... just dont want to pay them to diagnose , quite pricey
