Trunk assist stopped working.
Got a 06 S430 4Matic. Just replaced the PSE pump. Immediately after I did the trunk assist stopped working. As in it worked to open the trunk (with the key) so I could replace the PSE and did not work after PSE installed. I checked fuse 57 and 62 still not working. No response from trunk close and open buttons on trunk lid, no response from switch on drivers door, and remote open will unlock the trunk but not open it.
Damn'd gremlins.

The PSE pump needs to be programmed to work with the options on your car. The power trunk lid is much less common than the standard manual lift system, so your replacement isn't programmed to work with the power system. The fancy seat options often present the same problem.
You need DAS, or you need an independent tech who has DAS and knows how to use it.
