so here's my issue, I bought the car running and driving, just suspension issues and a limp mode code. Which is fine because I plan to replace the shocks, and the 13 plug connector and conducter plate. So I was removing the plugs from front and rear sam's to check for issues and make sure there is no water damage or corrosion, and by doing that and reconnecting them, my key stopped turning the ignition. It works sometimes when I disconnect battery negative and leave positive feed on it for about 10 minutes. But now it just stopped working. I ended up buying a new battery and replacing the alternator new as well. Still the same issue. I replaced the rear Sam as well with one from eBay exact part numbers as well just today. And key still wnt turn. The key is also been replaced once and reprogrammed. It is the new style key. Just wondering if anyone has had these issues before. Just by unplugging the Sam units to check for corrosion
Don't unplug/replug anything with the battery connected if that component is on the normally powered bus.
Second Rule:
Don't replace anything unless verified to be faulty. Save the money!
Third Rule:
Have systems verified with MB DAS before doing any work.
Good luck with your car!
