Working Key with KeylessGo malfunction?
Hi,
I got two keys when I bought my 05 S500. KG never worked. Now, I have come to realize that the newer key (Gen 4 chrome key on Track 6) wouldn't work with KG on W220. However, the original key (Track 1) should.
I have checked KG adaptation with DAS/Xentry, tried a used KG module (hence returned), and checked the Overhead Control Panel (to pair the thermistor).
Basically, RFL functions work perfectly. My question is this:
Can the key be bad in terms of KG function while still work perfectly in the ignition + IR + RF?
Its PCB is visually fine, though it was clearly repaired at some point (re-soldered IR thing at the tip).
I have no idea where else could be the problem. DAS shows that the switches mostly work fine (minus the driver's lock button that's split), and the car is eager to show "Key not recognized" every time I touch the door handle.
The car does have a hack job in the trunk with a bluetooth module, but removing it doesn't help with KG. There's no obvious fault in the car otherwise.
