Battery Drain and Possible Solutions
I have very bad battery drain all
of a sudden. I have 3 codes that might apply. One been there for a while but no. 1. below is more recent. When trouble started…
1. I noticed that sometimes lately my interior lights in car are on. Approaching the vehicle I hear rear left door click clicking and the info on dashboard says “No Key!” I also have a code S47/1b1 (Left door capacitive sensor) : Short Circuit to Ground. As per Autel diagnostics pic attached…
2. Pneumatic system. Operating time on button exceeded. If ok disregard.
3. Lastly a Rear Sam Anti Theft Tilt Sensor Self Failed. I previously tested and other sensor from a yard and was the same. They didn’t have the Realy and mine has black on two pins but every time park car last thing I do is press anti tow button on dash. It blinks and I lock. Also been there for a while.
Question?
-Would that door handle keep car awake and do overnight drain?
-would unplugging keyless plug stop that or would not need to be coded out?
Many thanks to anyone in advance for your time!!

The button is to allow the car to be towed without the alarm going off.
As looking for new contract work after very bad COVID $ low and can’t spend right now apart from oil changes etc. A mate at merc breakers had the same tilt sensor from a newer car and still had code. Need the relay under rear passenger seat replaced. .
To me as with trunk, to us here in ZA and Europe “the boot code” 😝 been around a while too…
Whole thing is, Re this new rear door keyless code…
if I unplug that round connector with wires from door handle, for keyless go button to lock door, and silver strip touch to unlock door, should it let code go and not keep things awake?
It won’t see door trying to “open itself” and keep all alive with random door clicking while interior lights come on inside and giving error no key or driving it says key in car….; or will it keep it alive saying no keyless button and strip found if that makes sense?! Will it need to be coded out with mbstar?
