shifting fail when going uphill
Recently, I've noticed that my 2006 s500 is struggling to find the right gear when switching from flat to uphill on the freeway. Today, rather than downshifting to accelerate once it hit the incline, it seemed to get "stuck" with very little happening when I depressed the accelerator. After a couple seconds, it finally adjusts and picks up power, but for a few moments, it feels dead.
I'll reset the transmission tomorrow to see if that helps. Sounds like it could be a transmission level fluid issue as well, which isn't easily checked. Any other suggestions appreciated.

This is a fairly common problem, acceleration is very lethargic until 3 to 4000 RPM and then the car takes off. I don’t think there’s ever been a solution posted in this forum, but it’s usually not low fluid.
do you have a 4matic, car or rear wheel wheel drive? The formatic cars are five speeds, the 2 Wheel Dr. cars are seven speeds. I’ve noticed this happen with the five speed tranny. Interesting that it also happens with the seven speed.

there's always been an accelation lag (considered getting the Sprint Booster when I first got the car), but this problem going uphill, driving the same roads I always drive, is much more drastic and just started over the past couple weeks. I don't have a 4matic.
