Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland
E button on memory selection.

On the 00-01 models there it goes 1, 2, and E. What is the E button for?

*ergonomics*. if you adjust your leg room, hit the E and it should try and best adapt the seat height, mirrors, seat back level, etc.

doesn't always work 100% correctly.

I believe the "E" stands for exit. It's meant to hold a setting that makes it easier for you to exit the car.

For "ergonomics" as previously mentioned. Some 80% of the population like the seat set that way when its adjusted so far forward or backward.... Doesn't really appeal to as many people as hoped and was dropped in favor of a 3rd memory position. You move the seat to where you want it, then press the E button. The car will move everything else to where its "ergonomically correct" or something.

Easy entry/exit positions are accomplished in a different manner... You will probably find that the seat does not move back at all when this button is pushed.
