Bad steering column link (U-joint)

Hey I was chasing a mysterious clunk/pop when I turn my steering wheel so o rebuilt the whole front end. I replaced the spring control arms, upper control arms, torque strut arms, torsion bar links, lower ball joints, and the inner/outer tie rod ends. The sound still was there. I had my gf turn the wheel back and forth while I was under the car and I found out it was the steering wheel column link had a lot of playing in the u-joint. Had anyone replaced one before or is it a bolt that connects the U-joint to the steering rack the problem?

After getting alignment. I was told the clunk is most likely my steering rack going back
