So I came across this S600....

Lately I've been intrigued with finding an M275 car and have read about every problem I can possibly find on these. I came across an '05, 2 owner car, 9x,xxx miles, very solid maintenance history from a dealership for the first 18 years. Motor mounts, coil packs/plugs, rear main were done about 20k ago. PSE pump was even replaced 10k ago. The only thing I do not see being serviced on the carfax is the ABC system.

The current owner has only driven it 1000 miles in the past 3 years and is now looking to sell. From what I see in the pics it has a small scuff on the front bumper's corner and has S55 wheels on it. It's black on black, but no sport package. California car it's whole life as well. I'm not even sure what a fair price on one of these would be since they're all over the place. I believe he'd let it go somewhere between $6000-$7500 and that's before I go see it and try to pick it apart.

Thoughts other than the cost of replacing coil packs in the future?

Mercedes
That’s a fair price assuming it has no current problems

I’ll probably call him tomorrow to get more info. I really don’t need another money pit but it seems like it could be a good car.

I don’t think my car likes all this “other car talk”. I shredded my supercharger belt today. It’s reminding we that we aren’t done yet lol.

On my standard S430 and S500, this was the clue to carefully inspect the idler system.

Thanks for the input Wally. I'm going to give it a good look when I get the motivation to go back into the garage.
