W220 rear Sam problems (maybe)
Hi guys, I just purchased an 2001 S500 very cheap yesterday and I know there are many problems. Now the situation I’m facing is that the driver/front passenger seat adjustment, all four windows, multimedia system, fuel guage, rear air suspensions and keyless entry system are all offline and completely can’t use. The seller told me that could be the problem of rear Sam fuse and relays, but I checked and noticed there are three Sams in W220, so I’m wondering whether all of these problems are caused by the bad rear same fuses, or it may relate with other sam fuses?

It’s not a fuse
the rear Sam is a very common failure it’s due to water damage from the reed valve . You’ll need to clear the reed valve and get a whole new or good used sam (it’s the rear fuse and relay box that all the fuses plug into under the rear seat )
the windows and seats are likely a bad door control module (the power seat switch block in the door ) that’s another common failure
the airmatic is a completely separate failure
the pse/keyless entry is another separate failure , usually the pneumatic pump in the trunk by the battery burns out due to a leaky actuator
the stereo failure is another separate failure , could be a water damaged amp in the left rear trunk area or the radio in the dash or any other part of the system that takes it offline

How experienced are you in working on automotive electrical systems?
Do you have a 12volt test light?
Do you have a good multimeter?
Are you willing to read questions and suggestions, then answer the questions asked, and follow the suggestions?

Do NOT buy any parts from China they don’t work right !!
buy used oem parts from
ebay or junkyard . They are usually cheaper than
parts from China and they actually work and have a warranty
