2001 S500 front suspension
I've owned several of these and worked on this system extensively.
Just picked up a 2001 S500. Front end sitting too low but not all the way down. MB II scanner said no voltage to right front sensor so I replaced it and voltage seems normal.
Can't find any leaks so I assumed the level sensor was the issue. Replaced it and car does not change height. Will go up if I push the button but not all the way, then comes back down.
No other faults in the system but I'm beginning to suspect a leak in one or both front struts.
Don't want to buy struts if it's a level sensor issue.
Anything else I can check before I shell out the cash for struts?

It is pretty easy to mount the level sensor incorrectly. Look very closely at how the left sensor is attached, and make sure that the right one is mounted the same way.
It is very easy to not have the electrical plugs inserted correctly. You need to insert both plugs mated together.

They both seem to be installed the same way and look correct based on pictures from other cars online.
The bushings in the arm seem a little tired like maybe they aren't holding the lever from the sensor up enough . Stan in the dark but maybe they are off just enough to mess with the sensor?
