I have just obtained a 2003 s430 from a friend. Car is in fantastic condition. Very well taken care of. Car is giving p0131 codes. I can tell you it's not the O2 sensors. The wiring harness for O2 was replaced and I am unsure if they wired car properly. This all started back in 2019... I found grease in o2 sensor connections and also in the 3 connector that goes into ecm... I have cleaned all those connections and even opened the ecu and clean computer board with 99% iso alcohol. 3 items each time I clean it it get better... I think this is a wiring issue and want not to validate proper wiring at ecu. Help hate to see car get destroyed .... Grease very light film Note brownish color on ecu board See grease film
If I remember correctly, the O2 sensors must have access to clean air to function correctly, and in some cases, that air comes in on the electrical wire. If that is the case, the installer erred by putting the corrosion-preventing grease in the connectors.
