Headlight problems - help!

My 2000 S430 is having some odd headlight issues. I should begin by mentioning that a few months ago I upgraded the car to bi-Xenon headlights. The conversion went well and they worked great for months. Then one day while I was out driving all the lamps in the headlights failed except the Xenons. Fortunately the turn signals in the mirrors work so at least people can see what I'm signaling, but the odd thing is that the Xenons flash from low beam to high beam in sync with the turn signal. And both xenons flash!

Sometimes the turn signals work, but most of the time they don't. All the other lamps are dead: high beams, running lights, fog lamps.

I put it on SDS and it told me what I already knew, that all the bulbs were out. It also told me that it was getting improbable signals from the headlight switch. So I tested the headlight switch and it was just fine. I reset all the error codes and tried it again. All the lights failed, and all the error codes came back except the one about the headlight switch. I can't believe that both SAM-FL and SAM-FR would fail simultaneously. I also can't believe it's the headlight switch because the turn signals are also affected. The only single point of failure I can think of is the CAN bus.

Do any of you have any idea what my problem could be? Help!
