Tricks for finding an intermittent current leak?

Car will occasionally wake up dead. Battery completely empty.

Any tips/tricks for finding this intermittent current leak? There something in DAS or something?

The quick and easy workaround to finding a battery drain is to just install a remote control battery disconnect. I have them on all my Mercedes that I rarely drive, as they will kill the battery within a month unless a battery disconnect is on. The remote control battery disconnects allow you to turn on and off the battery with just the click of a remote key fob. They sell them on Amazon and eBay

i have this same problem. its annoying
i cant leave care more than 6 hours or battery goes goodbye
jumped it already like 4 times this winter because i forgot to disconnect the battery with the bluetooth disconnect that i highly recommend however it does not fit well at ALL on the battery terminal just no space with our cars, i made it work somehow

mechanic told me my rear sam is doing the draw, just havent had time to write part number down and get a new one

what kind of person would have a SAM analyzer ?

what i read from the forums over the years is these cars electronics hog alot of power and it is natural to have them drain the battery to a certain extent. someone even said few days would still be "normal" in a car like this. geeze right

my favorite accessory was the NOCO boost jumper, helped everytime with a dead battery

It's definitely not normal. Mercedes generally knows how to build a car, and one that "leaks naturally", no.
Something is amiss somewhere.

Be careful with battery jumpers, they can fry the alternator diodes pretty easily.

If its all the time, measure current draw at the battery while pulling fuses.
If its only now and again, then just pull out a different fuse every time you park the car. Or pull a few fuses, maybe 5. Block A, block B etc.
Make notes.

Then you will figure out the drain is in one of these 5 fuses. Then repeat until you at least know more or less where the drain is from.

The W220 battery is in the trunk but most of the fuses are in under the hood, the rear seat, or the sides of the doors. Do you have any tip to measure the current draw if the Multimeter connected to the battery in the trunk while pulling the fuse up front?

You can get a bluetooth multimeter. Connect the lead in the back, bring the unit to the front.
