2006 W220/S430 NAV ANTENNA/BROKEN REAR WINDOW
My rear window needs to be replaced (chipped and cracked) and I have an aftermarket radio so the NAV/TeleAid antenna on the back window technically isn't needed anymore (I believe). Any ideas on how I can disconnect it without pulling down the headliner (maybe at the amplifier) and do the 2 wires going to the antenna carry power or RF signals? My hope is to get the rear window replaced without re-installing the antenna if it is not needed anymore and then maybe adding another molding coupler to the area where the antenna wires exited the car and fed into the antenna?
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. The car has an aftermarket antenna cap that is constantly a problem getting loose/cracking, etc.
Thanks much!
Anthony
Appreciate it, Wally! You've now helped me out with a few things!

AM/FM; Lock/Unlock, etc. are all wires embedded in the glass, which go to painted-on contact pads at the top of the rear window. The antenna amplifier mounts under the headliner above the window. The amp has an array of metal spring fingers that rest on those contact pads to pass the signals into the car's systems.
